Lightning talk #11 – Using plantuml plugin with sublime

Prerequisites:

  • download plantuml
  • download plantuml plugin (https://github.com/jvantuyl/sublime_diagram_plugin)
  • download graphviz (https://graphviz.gitlab.io/_pages/Download/Download_windows.html
  • set GRAPHVIZ_DOT as env variable (C:\Program Files (x86)\Graphviz2.38\bin\dot.exe)
  • Create a diagram and use ALT+M to generate the image for it (extension is .wsd)

Specific terms

  • @startuml, @enduml – delimits the UML area to be interpreted

Sequence diagram

  • “->” and “<-” are used to draw a message between two participants
  • “–>” and “<–” are used to create a dotted arrow
  • Participants:
    • actor
    • boundary
    • control
    • entity
    • database
    • collections

  • “[*]” – starting / ending point
  • “–>” – arrows
